Penicuik Medical Practice has reviewed the prescription ordering and collection process alongside local pharmacies. Please allow 5 working days from ordering your prescription to collecting your prescription from your chosen pharmacy.
There are several reasons for this:
1. The practice issues prescriptions for over 15,000 medicines each month. This allows time to process these safely and by the doctor and pharmacist who know you best.
2. Collection at the pharmacy will allow you the opportunity to ask medication related questions you may have.
3. Collection from your pharmacy will also allow reception staff additional time to spend answering phones and assisting with queries.
You can also order your repeat prescriptions online via the link at the top of this page.
Penicuik Medical Practice have changed their online prescription provider and requires our patients to register at the Medical Practice. We require proof of ID and residency when registering.
Please click here to download the new registration form for your completion. Please bring this to the practice with your proof of ID and Residency
Once you have registered for our new online services please go to www.patient-services.co.uk to login and order your repeat prescription. Please be aware if any of your prescription items are noted as being "unauthorised" you should enter these items in the free text box at the bottom of your ordering screen.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
